Observation

Why are the lost ignorant and separated from God? How are we to treat each other Christians?

Application

Which of the instructions in verses 25-32 do I most need to work on in my Christian walk?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Lord, I ask that I would no longer live in futile thinking as unbelievers do, hardening my heart toward You and turning myself over to depravity. I thank You that I heard of Christ and was taught in Him about His truth. May I put off my old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires. For You have made me new in Christ in the attitude of my mind, so may I put on the new self, created to be like You in true righteousness and holiness. Strengthen me to put off all falsehood and to speak the truth to my neighbor, for we are members of one body. May I not sin in anger. Keep me from letting the sun go down on my anger, so as not to give the devil a foothold. Help me to speak only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. May I never grieve the Holy Spirit, with whom I am sealed for the day of redemption. Rather, help me to get rid of all bitterness, rage, and anger, brawling and slander, and every kind of malice. Give me a heart that is kind and compassionate to others, forgiving them just as Christ forgave me. I desire to imitate You as a dearly loved child and to live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to You. I ask this in the Name of Jesus, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Amy & Debbie Brueggemann
  • Chris Carlton
  • Travis & Hali Davidson
  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Brian & Eileen Davis

Missionaries:

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

CLF:

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for County leaders…

  • Assessor, Coroner, Treasurer, Clerks, Judges, Prosecutors, Defenders, Sheriffs
  • that they would make sound financial decisions
  • that they would all be faithful in carrying out their duties justly
  • that they would submit themselves to God

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. – James 1:5
