Scripture

Hebrews 7:11-28

Read or listen to today’s passage at Bible Gateway:

Observation

What is the significance of a change in the priesthood from the Levites to Jesus (verses 12, 18)?

Application

Am I still trying to live under the old law and regulations, or am I fully experiencing the freedom Christ offers?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Lord Jesus, Thank You for establishing a new covenant and for being my high priest who remains forever. I thank You that I am no longer under the weight of the law, but I am made right with God through Your grace. Thank You, Lord Jesus! Amen!

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Amy & Debbie Brueggemann
  • Chris Carlton
  • Travis & Hali Davidson
  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Brian & Eileen Davis

Missionaries:

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

CLF:

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for your neighbors…

  • That God would provide opportunities for you to minister to them
  • That unbelievers would receive Christ as Savior and Lord
  • For their marriages / family relationships
  • For their finances / employment
  • Any specific needs of which you’re aware

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding. Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight. – Proverbs 3:5-6 (NET)
