Observation

What are we to hold on to? With what attitudes are we to serve God?

Application

Do I have a consistently firm grasp on grace? Do I serve God with reverence and awe, or have I become flippant and complacent?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Lord God, give me a heart that pursues peace and holiness. Keep me from bitterness, immorality, and irreverence. Thank You that You are no longer inapproachable, but that by the blood of Jesus You bid me come boldly before Your throne and make my requests known to You. Because I am receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let me hold on to grace. By it alone, I may serve You acceptably, with reverence and awe; for You are a consuming fire. I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael Morgan

Ministries:

  • Provenance
  • Genesis World Mission

CLF:

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for Nampa

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
For we are his workmanship, having been created in Christ Jesus for good works that God prepared beforehand so we may do them. – Ephesians 2:10 (NET)
