Observation

For what did Jesus rebuke the disciples? What does the story of “Legion” teach us about the power and authority of Jesus?

Application

Would Jesus have to scold me for being cowardly? Do I still not have faith? Do I trust Him and His absolute authority, regardless of the circumstances?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, Thank You for the power and authority of Jesus! Nature obeys His every whim, and multitudes of demons cringe in fear at His presence. May I not be cowardly, but grant me faith and courage to always trust Him. In His name I ask, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)
