Observation

For whom are we to pray? What does God want?

Application

Do I pray and offer thanks for for those in authority? Do I ask God to draw them to Himself?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, I ask that You would move Your people to pray, offering requests, intercessions, and thanks on behalf of all people, even for governmental authorities with whom we may not agree, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. Help us to do this because such prayer for all is good and welcomed before You, since You want all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. I thank You that You alone are God, and there is only one intermediary between You and humanity, Christ Jesus, Himself human, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, revealing Your purpose at Your appointed time. So help us to pray in every place, without anger or dispute. May I and all Christian men and women become more and more Christlike every day in every way. I ask this in Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Travis & Hali Davidson (Andrew)
  • Brian & Eileen Davis

Missionaries:

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

CLF:

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for our national leaders

  • God’s anointing on them and a desire in them to follow Him
  • For Jesus to once again be Lord and King over our nation
  • For the president and cabinet to seek after God
  • For judges to rule justly and righteously
  • For senators & representatives to pass godly legislation and block sinful bills
  • That our government would protect its citizens and punish evildoers

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. – Luke 16:13 (NET)
