Observation

Why are we accountable to God? What did David pray regarding his sin?

Application

Do I submit to my Creator, the One who made all things and who is the King of Glory? Do I believe God forgives my sin and remembers it no more?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in Heaven, I praise You as the Creator of the earth and everything in it. I cannot approach You on my own, for my hands are unclean and my heart is impure. But because You approached me and provided the sacrifice of Jesus, Your One and Only unique Son, I have received Your blessing and righteousness. Help to seek You daily. I trust in You, and no one who trusts in You will be disgraced. Make Your ways known to me, LORD; teach me Your paths. Guide me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; I wait for You all day long. Remember, LORD, Your compassion and Your faithful love, for they have existed from antiquity. Do not remember the sins of my youth or my acts of rebellion; in keeping with Your faithful love, remember me because of Your goodness, LORD. Because of Your name, LORD, forgive my sin, for it is great. I thank You that You show sinners like me the way, for You are good and upright. You lead the humble in what is right and teach them Your ways. All Your ways show faithful love and truth to those who are Yours. Guard me and deliver me; do not let me be put to shame, for I take refuge in You. Thank You, Father! Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover

Ministry:

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

CLF:

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for Outreach Ministries

  • God’s creative provision
  • For sound financial management and strategies
  • Salvation and spiritual growth for those to whom they minister
  • God’s anointing and leading for projects and programs
  • Volunteers and workers

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
For in the gospel God’s righteousness is being revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, “The righteous will live by faith.” – Romans 1:17 (ISV)
