Observation

What is the great and amazing promise God makes to Israel even as He is pronouncing judgment on her?

Application

Am I thankful to God for His grace, mercy, and forgiveness?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Dear Father in Heaven, Thank You that even as You are pronouncing catastrophic judgment, in Your wrath You remember mercy. I praise You that You promised that You will not totally destroy the house of Jacob, but will will restore the fallen booth of David: You will repair its gaps, restore its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old. I praise You for Your forgiveness and grace, as shown by your promise that the days are coming when the plowman will overtake the reaper and the one who treads grapes, the sower of seed. The mountains will drip with sweet wine, and all the hills will flow with it, for You will restore the fortunes of Your people Israel. They will rebuild and occupy ruined cities, plant vineyards and drink their wine, make gardens and eat their produce. You have promised that You will plant them on their land, and they will never again be uprooted from the land You have given them. I know this promise will be kept, for Yahweh our God has spoken it. Amen!

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover

Ministry:

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

CLF:

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for the relationship between generations–parents, children, grandparents

  • That the true Christian faith of older generation would be clearly communicated and passed down to children
  • That saved children in unsaved families would clearly exhibit and communicate the faith to their parents and grandparents
  • A harvest of souls of all ages
  • Good, nurturing relationships

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
From that time Jesus began to preach this message: “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.” – Matthew 4:17 (NET)
