Scripture

Exodus 19

Observation

What promise did God make to the Israelites? What stipulation did He include with his promise?

Application

Revelation 1:6 and 5:10 state that those who are in Christ are a kingdom of priests, just as God had promised Israel here in Exodus. Do I live like a citizen in God’s kingdom of priests? Do I listen to God and live according to His word?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Father God, Thank You for what You did to the Egyptians and how You carried them on eagles’ wings and brought them to Yourself. Thank You that all who are in Christ are spiritually grafted into Israel, as adopted children into a family, by His shed blood. Help me to listen to You and keep Your covenant, and live like a member of Your family and a citizen of Your kingdom of priests, as Your own possession. I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael Morgan

Ministries:

  • Provenance
  • Genesis World Mission

CLF:

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for area pastors and their families:

  • Encouragement
  • Faithfulness in the Lord’s work
  • Finances
  • Marriage/family relationships
  • Work/life balance
  • Deep friendships and support from other Christian leaders

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
My little children, I am writing you these things so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father–Jesus Christ the righteous One. – 1 John 2:1 (HCSB)
