Observation

What does David say regarding God’s anger and His favor? What does David say he will do now that God has heard his prayer?

Application

Do I pour out my heart to God in times of difficulty? Do I trust His favor to last a lifetime (and beyond)? When He answers my prayer, do I rejoice in Him praise Him?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, I will exalt You, LORD, because You have lifted me up and have not allowed my enemies to triumph over me. I cried to You for help, and You healed me. I sing to You LORD, and praise Your holy name, for Your anger lasts only a moment, but Your favor, a lifetime. Weeping may spend the night, but there is joy in the morning. My strength comes from You, and as long as I am trusting in You, I will never be shaken, for You make me stand like a strong mountain. I thank You that when I call to You and seek Your favor, You listen and are gracious to me; You are my helper. You turn lament into dancing and mourning into gladness. I will sing to You and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise You forever.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Ken & Twilla Eden (Joshua, Jonathan, Sophia)
  • Gil & Lois Estes
  • Gary Friend
  • Scott & Kristi Guinn (Josiah)

Missionaries:

  • J & G Simon, missionaries to Austria

CLF:

  • Ask that we would be a church that is devoted to true fellowship: Pray that we would be encouraged from being united with Christ, comforted by His love, bonded with His Spirit, tender and compassionate with one another. Pray that we would be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Ask that we would do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider one another better than ourselves, looking not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of each other. Pray that we would all have the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus.

Community: Pray for the relationship between generations–parents, children, grandparents

  • That the true Christian faith of older generation would be clearly communicated and passed down to children
  • That saved children in unsaved families would clearly exhibit and communicate the faith to their parents and grandparents
  • A harvest of souls of all ages
  • Good, nurturing relationships

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
But based on His promise, we wait for new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness will dwell. – 2 Peter 3:13 (HCSB)
