Observation

How did Joseph test his brothers to see if their hearts had changed? How did they show they had changed?

Application

Do I allow for growth and the work of God in the hearts of people who have wronged me in the past?

Prayer

Dear Father, Help me to remember that I am just as fallen as anyone else, and yet You have forgiven me. I pray that I will grow more like You every day such that I will not be the same person in the future I am today–I will have a softer heart and a Christ-like attitude. And Lord, please help me to remember that others are fallen and growing, too. Help me to give grace and to allow for growth and change in the hearts of people who have wronged me in the past. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Moy & Janeth Ortiz
  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)
  • Keith Rast
  • Andrea Rodriguez (Willie, Yulieta)

Ministry:

  • Boise Rescue Mission

CLF:

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for Ontario…

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
He doesn’t need to offer sacrifices every day, as high priests do–first for their own sins, then for those of the people. He did this once for all when He offered Himself. – Hebrews 7:27 (HCSB)
