Observation

How can we have joy in the midst of trials? How can one gain wisdom? What important principle is contained in verses 22-25?

Application

Do I focus on my circumstances and revel in self-pity when difficult times come, or do I rejoice that God is using them for my growth? Do I ask God in faith for wisdom and guidance? Do I apply and obey God’s Word or just read it?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Dear God, Thank You that even in the most trying times in my life You remain with me, and You always only do what is for my good! I ask that each day you would grow me in Your wisdom and show me the path to walk. Help me not to stop at just hearing Your Word; I want to be a “doer”! In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Joe & Sheala Lehosit
  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael Morgan

Ministries:

  • Provenance
  • Genesis World Mission

CLF:

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for the salvation of the lost

  • Readiness to repent
  • Hearts prepared to hear God’s voice
  • Deep dissatisfaction and unrest with life without Him
  • Godly influences

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
Your life should be free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for He Himself has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” Therefore, we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” – Hebrews 13:5-6 (HCSB)
