Observation

What does James teach regarding controlling our tongues? What important point does he make in verse 10? How can we if we are using God’s wisdom (14-17)?

Application

Do I control my tongue? Do both blessing and cursing come out of my mouth? Do I tap into the wisdom of heaven or the wisdom of earth, and how can I tell?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Dear Father in heaven, For the sake of Your glory, the Name of Jesus, the reputation of Your people, and my own good, help me to control my tongue. I ask that only things of which You approve would come out of my mouth. Nudge me by Your Spirit when I am starting to get out of control with my speech, and teach me to walk in the pure, peace-loving, gentle, compliant wisdom from heaven that is full of mercy and good fruits, without favoritism and hypocrisy. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

  • L – Labor (their job or school)

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
Your life should be free from the love of money. Be satisfied with what you have, for He Himself has said, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” Therefore, we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” – Hebrews 13:5-6 (HCSB)
