Observation

How did David respond when confronted with his sin? What does he say is necessary to please God (17)?

Application

Do I come to God in repentance when I recognize my sin? Do I allow my spirit to be broken before Him and humble my heart?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Dear Father in heaven, Keep me from pride, rebellion, and a hard heart. Thank You for the blood of Christ which covers my sin, but when I recognize I have sinned, lead me to come before You with a broken spirit and humble heart, confessing that I have strayed and align me back onto Your path. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)
