Observation

What did David feel like when he wrote this Psalm? What did he ask God to do?

Application

When my heart is weak, do I seek God and ask Him to lead me to Him, trusting Him to be my Rock and strong Tower? Do I take refuge under the shelter of His wings?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in Heaven, When those times come–as they do at some point for everyone–that I am weak and fainthearted, remind me to call to You from the ends of the earth. Lead me to a rock that is high above me, for You have been a refuge for me, a strong tower in the face of the enemy. I will live in Your tent forever and take refuge under the shelter of Your wings. You have given a heritage to those who fear Your name: we will sit before You forever, guarded by Your faithful love and truth. Therefore I will continually sing of Your name! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • Deborah Halkola
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover

Ministry:

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

CLF:

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for the poor & imprisoned

  • Salvation
  • That they will trust in God’s provision
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • That they will have hope
  • For godly mentors in the prison/jail system

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God–God remains in him and he in God. And we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. – 1 John 4:15-16 (HCSB)
