Observation

What was David pleading in Psalm 142? Why does he ask for deliverance (Psalm 142:7, 143:10-11)?

Application

Do I truly understand that there is no place or situation so deep and dark that my cries to God can’t be heard and His deliverance can’t reach? Do I seek His protection and deliverance for my own convenience or for the glory of His name?

Prayer

Dear Father, When i find myself in the deep darkness of the caves of this life, lead me to cry out to You for mercy in total dependence and complete faith. In Your faithfulness listen to my plea, and in Your righteousness answer me. Help me to remember the days of old, to meditate on all You have done, and to reflect on the work of Your hands. Although my spirit is weak within me, You know my way. You are my shelter, my portion in the land of the living. Let me experience Your faithful love in the morning, for I trust in You. Reveal to me the way I should go, because I long for You. Lead me to come to You for protection. Teach me to do Your will, for You are my God. May Your gracious Spirit lead me on level ground. Because of Your name, Yahweh, let me live. In Your righteousness deliver me from trouble. Free me from my prison so that I can praise Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Michael Morgan
  • Moy & Janeth Ortiz
  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)

Ministry:

  • Boise Rescue Mission

Operation Christmas Child:

  • Pray for the National Leadership Team volunteers who work with local churches to distribute the shoe boxes and to implement “The Greatest Journey.”

CLF:

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for our state leaders…

  • Governor & his advisers
  • Judges
  • state senators and representatives
  • that they would all be faithful in carrying out their duties justly
  • that they would submit themselves to God

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
For a child will be born for us, a son will be given to us, and the government will be on His shoulders. He will be named Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace. – Isaiah 9:6 (HCSB)
