Observation

What was Simeon’s experience with Jesus? What was Anna’s?

Application

Do I allow the Spirit to guide me and show me what God would have me do to proclaim Jesus as Lord and God? Do I thank God and speak about Him to all who are looking forward to eternal redemption?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in Heaven, Thank You for the examples of Simeon and Anna, and for Your loving faithfulness to them. Thank You for the impact they had on Mary and Joseph. May I always follow the Holy Spirit’s leading as Simeon did, and be in prayer and service to You, thanking You and talking about You as Anna did. I thank You that, although my eyes have not seen Your salvation yet, my heart, mind, and spirit know I have received it in Jesus, the light for revelation to the Gentiles and glory to Israel. In His name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • Deborah Halkola
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover

Ministry:

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

Operation Christmas Child:

  • Pray that the boxes will open doors for children to hear the Good News in parts of the world that are typically closed to proclaiming the Gospel.

CLF:

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for Outreach Ministries

  • God’s creative provision
  • For sound financial management and strategies
  • Salvation and spiritual growth for those to whom they minister
  • God’s anointing and leading for projects and programs
  • Volunteers and workers
