Observation

How severe will the Tribulation be for Israel (8)? What will be the result (9)?

Application

While the trials I encounter are on an infinitely smaller scale than the Tribulation, do I allow them to refine me and draw me closer to God?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Father God, During times of trial and tribulation, instead of complaining and blaming You, may I allow the fire of those difficulties to refine me as silver is refined and test me as gold is tested. May I call on Your name, and may You answer and say: “He is one of My people,” and then may I say: “Yahweh is my God.” I ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Darrell & Fralina Leatham
  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Tris & Chris Miller
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael & Jenn Morgan

Ministry:

  • Genesis World Mission

CLF:

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for Nampa

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity. God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation He will also provide a way of escape so that you are able to bear it. – 1 Corinthians 10:13 (HCSB)
