Scripture

1 Samuel 29

Observation

In spite of David’s deceptive lifestyle in Gath, how did God work out the ill intent of his enemies for his good?

Application

Have there been situations in my life where God has used even my foolish decisions for my good? Have I thanked Him for that?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Father in Heaven, May I have the wisdom to make the right decisions and the courage to follow You no matter the consequences. But this side of heaven I’ll never do so perfectly, Lord, so I ask that by Your grace You will work everything for my good anyway, as You did with David, and bring me back into right and wise behavior. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Moy & Janeth Ortiz
  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luc)
  • Keith Rast
  • Travis & Consuela Sauer (Mikayla, Christian, Donte, Cheyenne, Sera, Ella, Thomas)

Ministry:

  • Boise Rescue Mission

CLF:

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for Media Industries (TV/Movies, Radio/Music, Print/Internet)

  • Godly themes/influences
  • Christian workers at all levels sensitive to God’s leading
  • Salvation for influential media leaders
  • Courage to share God’s message
  • Financial rewards for wholesome media

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
I love You, LORD, my strength. The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my mountain where I seek refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. – Psalm 18:1-2 (HCSB)
