1 Samuel 30

Click here to read today’s passage on Bible Gateway

What had happened at Ziklag while David and his men were away? How did God provide a way for them to find the offenders? How much did they recover? What was the dispute between David’s men, and how did he settle it?

Am I more concerned with loving and serving God than I am with having Him give me what I want? Do I repent and change my behavior when confronted with my sin?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Heavenly Father, Help me not to lose heart when it appears as if all is lost, for You can return all that is taken. Help me to trust You to provide and protect, and may I act righteously with my fellow believers. In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Chris & DeAnn Smith (Sasha, Noah, Gavin, Natalie)
  • Ross & Christy Stoltey (Spencer, Garrett, Conner, Katie, Grace)
  • Brandi Taylor
  • Sree Yalamanchili
  • Jason & Danielle Youngblood (Kayla, Kendra)
