Observation

How did God reveal His love? In what does love consist? What should be our response to this love? How is God’s love perfected in us? How do we remain in love?

Application

Do I live and function in the love of God? Do I believe in Jesus Christ and confess Him as the Son of God? Do I give thanks to God daily for taking the initiative to love me and send His Son as the propitiation for my sins? Do I respond to this great love by showing it to others? Do I remain in God, loving Him with all my heart, soul, mind and strength?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear God my Father, Thank You for revealing Your love by sending Your One and Only Son into the world so that we might live through Him. Love consists in this: not that we loved You, but that You loved us and sent Your Son to be the propitiation for our sins. Dear Father, if You loved us in this way, we also must love one another. No one has ever seen You, but if we love one another, You remain in us and Your love is perfected in us. Help me to remain in Your love. This is how we know that we remain in You and You in us: You have given assurance to us from Your Spirit. Thank You for Your Spirit and that blessed assurance! I believe and testify that You sent Your Son as the world’s Savior. I confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and claim Your promise that You remain in me and I in You. I have come to know and to believe the love that You have for me. You are love, and the one who remains in love remains in You, and You remains in him. I thank You and praise You in Jesus’ name, Amen!
