Observation

What does David do regarding those who oppose him? How did he treat them when they were facing trials?

Application

Do I let God fight my battles, or am I quick to jump to my own defense? Do I have genuine concern for those who oppose me, praying for them and grieving for them when they face trials?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, Remind me when I am being unjustly treated and attacked that You are my deliverer, and I need to let You take care of things. Keep me from returning evil for evil. Instead, help me to love my enemies and pray for those who persecute me. I pray this in Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Travis & Hali Davidson (Andrew, Maddy)
  • Brandon & Lindsey Dockins (Gianna)
  • Patti Doty

Missionaries:

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

CLF:

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for the elderly…

  • That they will be treated respectfully
  • That they will not dwell on mistakes and regret
  • That God will provide for their health and finances
  • That God will protect them from those who would try to harm them
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • Any broken family relationships restored before they pass on

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
For God who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of God’s glory in the face of Jesus Christ. Now we have this treasure in clay jars, so that this extraordinary power may be from God and not from us. – 2 Corinthians 4:6-7
