Observation

Why should we praise God? What makes for a happy nation?

Application

Do I give God the praise He is due for who He is and what He has done? Do I pray for my nation to make Him its Lord?

Prayer

Dear God my Father, You are right and all Your work is trustworthy. You love and are the source of righteousness and justice; the earth is full of Your unfailing love. You made everything with just a word, and You sustain all things. May the whole earth tremble in awe before You! For You spoke, and it came into being; You commanded, and it came into existence. While men plot and scheme, You frustrate the counsel of nations and thwart their plans, but Your counsel stands forever, the plans of Your heart from generation to generation. May my nation choose to make You our God and our Lord, that we may be happy–the people of Your possession. You are all-seeing, all-knowing, all-present, and all-powerful! You deliver Your people from death. I wait on You, my help and shield. My heart rejoices in You, because I trust in Your holy name. May Your faithful love rest on Your people, for we put our hope in You! In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Moy & Janeth Ortiz
  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luc)
  • Travis & Consuela Sauer (Mikayla, Christian, Donte, Cheyenne, Sera, Ella, Thomas)

Ministry:

  • Boise Rescue Mission

CLF:

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for single adults…

  • To embrace Christ as their best friend and lover of their souls
  • To more fully grasp the family heart of God
  • That God will bring them Godly friends to care for and support them
  • That God will give them a peace and drive away loneliness
  • That God will provide them with meaningful work & ministry in which to use their gifts

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
He has made us competent to be ministers of a new covenant, not of the letter, but of the Spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit produces life. – 2 Corinthians 3:6 (HCSB)
