Psalm 58

Observation

What charge does David bring against the powerful and those in authority? What will happen to them? How will the righteous respond?

Application

Do I trust that God is working everything out for His ultimate purpose, even when the wicked are in positions of power and authority? Do I believe that God will bring them to justice? Do I believe that God is the ultimate judge who will reward those who follow Him?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Lord, Keep me from doubting You and living in fear of wicked people in power and authority. I pray that those who oppress Your people and practice injustice and violence against the innocent would repent and come to You, but if they don’t, help me to trust that You are the ultimate power and authority, and You WILL bring them to justice, and You WILL reward the righteous. In Jesus’ name, Amen!
