Worship at CLF
“Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt his name together.” (Psalm 34:3)
At CLF, we believe that worship and praise are essential for a mature, pleasing relationship with the Lord. Our desire is to spend time with the Lord in worship of His greatness. No other deserves our praise or devotion- anything else is a false God!! In Matt. 22:37-38, Jesus said "’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment."
Our desire is to worship the Lord as modeled in the Psalms.
- Psalm 33:1 - Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.
- Psalm 40:3 - He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the LORD.
CLF incorporates the old and the new in a contemporary style. We include the musical heritage of the hymns with contemporary praise and worship songs and choruses, as well as original songs written by our worship leaders and others in our body. We utilize a contemporary worship band, but we are much more concerned with the FUNCTION of the worship rather than just the form. God desires us to worship Him and Him alone! Let us worship the Lord together!
The CLF Worship Team
The worship team of Christian Life Fellowship exists to promote and facilitate the ministry of praise and worship in our body. Our goal is to honor God and to provide an atmosphere that is conducive to bringing people into an encounter with Him. Our aim is to provide unhindered, powerfully anointed worship so that God’s people can worship Him in spirit and in truth. We also want any unbelievers visiting to see that God is present and real, so that they will desire to have a relationship where they, too, can have an encounter with Him. Participants on this team must have a heart for worship, both corporately and individually. They will daily worship and seek God and be passionate about seeing Him exalted and meeting with His people, both corporately and individually. They will make every effort to promote a spirit of unity and cooperation among the participants on the worship team and in the church as a whole, and will support and encourage the worship leader, elders, deacons, and other leaders of the church.
We are always looking for Christians who fit this description and who have the ability to "sing joyfully to the LORD" and / or "play skillfully" for him on keyboard, guitar (electric or acoustic), bass guitar, drums or percussion, or vocals. If you feel you meet this criteria, we would love to talk with you about being a member of the worship team!
