John 11:46-12:19

Why were the Pharisees plotting to take Jesus’ life? How did God use them for His purposes? Why is Jesus pleased with Mary’s action?

How does knowing that God uses even the plans of evil men for His good purpose encourage me? Have I worshiped Him extravagantly in any way lately?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Father, thank You for being in control. Even though the high priest thought he was carrying out his own schemes, he was actually prophesying by Your Spirit what had to happen to fulfill Your plan. Help me to remember that even though wicked men do things and mean it for evil, You can use it for Your good. Lord, I want to worship You extravagantly as Mary did when she poured the perfume on Jesus’ feet. Help me to spare no expense with my time, money, praise, and resources in worshiping You. I praise You, Father, that through Jesus every prophecy concerning The Messiah was fulfilled. As we see in this passage, the words You spoke through the prophets of old became reality in Christ. I, too, declare: ‘Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the King of Israel!’ In His name I pray, Amen

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Amy & Debbie Brueggemann
  • Travis & Hali Davidson
  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Brian & Eileen Davis

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16
