Why is there no condemnation for the true Christian? If Christ is in you, what has happened to your body and your spirit?

When I hear “self-talk” telling me how bad I am and how unworthy I am, how should I respond? Because of Christ’s sacrifice as a sin offering, the Spirit lives in me; what does this mean for my body in the future, and how does this encourage me?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Lord God of Heaven and Earth and Almighty Judge of all things, I thank You that because I am in Christ Jesus, I am not now and will never be condemned by You. I thank You that Jesus became my sin offering and so condemned sin in my sinful nature, meeting the righteous requirements of the Law in my stead, imputing His righteousness to my account and allowing me to live according to the Spirit. Help me to set my mind not on what the sinful nature desires, but rather on what the Spirit desires, controlled by the Spirit who gives me life and peace. I thank You that Your Spirit dwells within me, guiding me and teaching me how to grow and live. Though this human body is dying because of sin, my spirit is alive because of the righteousness of Christ. And just as You raised Jesus from the dead, I believe one day You will also give life to my mortal body through Your Spirit who lives in me. Thank You, Lord! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)
  • Andrea Rodriguez (Willie, Yulieta)

  • Boise Rescue Mission

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for Boise & Garden City…

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials
  • Gowan Field Military Base

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! – 2 Corinthians 5:17
