Romans 15:1-13

How are we to be like Christ in dealing with the failings of others? Why did God give us the written Old Testament?

How well do I show the love of Christ in accepting those weaker in the faith than I? Do I study the whole counsel of God, including the Old Testament?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Heavenly Father, I ask for Your strength and guidance in dealing with and bearing with those who are weak. May I seek to build them up, for even Christ didn’t please Himself, but took my insults upon Himself. I thank You that Scripture was written to teach us, so that through endurance and its encouragement we might have hope. Oh God who gives endurance and encouragement, I ask that You would give Your people (including me!) a spirit of unity as we follow Jesus, so that with one heart and voice we may glorify You, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Help me to accept other believers, then, just as Christ accepted me, in order to bring praise to You. Thank You that Jesus became a servant of the Jews on behalf of Your truth, to confirm the promises made to the patriarchs so that the Gentiles may glorify You for Your mercy. May Your name be praised among both Jews and Gentiles. I ask that You may fill me with all joy and peace as I trust in You, so that I may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Scott & Kristi Guinn
  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • Patrick Hall
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for Teachers & Administrators & School Boards

  • Godly curriculum
  • God’s wisdom in teaching and leading
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • Ability to inspire a love of truth and learning

Remain in me, and I will remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. – John 15:4
