Romans 3:21-31

What is significant about the righteousness that has been revealed now, to which the Law and Prophets testified? How is man justified before God? Why did God present Jesus as a sacrifice of atonement?

What does the word “justified” mean, and how does its meaning go beyond “forgiven”? Am I justified before God, and if so, on what do I base that claim? How does the Cross show not only the love, mercy, grace, and forgiveness of God, but also His justice?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank You for making known the righteousness that comes from You apart from the Law, to which all of the Old Testament testified! Thank You that by faith in Jesus all who believe are made righteous in Your sight. Though every person in history (except Jesus Himself) has sinned and fallen short of Your glory, we who believe are justified by Your grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. Father, I thank You for presenting Him as an atoning sacrifice for everyone who has faith in His blood. By doing this, God, You demonstrated Your justice, because in Your great forbearance You had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished. You demonstrated Your justice by causing the penalty of sin to be paid, and Jesus demonstrated Your grace, mercy, and love by being that sacrifice and allowing the sins of the whole world–past, present, and future–to be laid on Him and paid for by His blood. Neither I nor anyone else has any reason to boast about anything before You, Lord God, for You are our all in all, who justifies by faith in Christ alone. I thank You and praise You, my Lord and my God! In Jesus’ Name, Amen

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Ken & Twilla Eden (Joshua, Jonathan)
  • Gil & Lois Estes
  • Gary Friend
  • For the salvation of lost friends, relatives, neighbors, etc.

  • J & G Simon, missionaries to Austria

  • Ask that we would be a church that is devoted to true fellowship: Pray that we would be encouraged from being united with Christ, comforted by His love, bonded with His Spirit, tender and compassionate with one another. Pray that we would be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Ask that we would do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider one another better than ourselves, looking not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of each other. Pray that we would all have the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus.

Community: Pray for orphans and children in foster care…

  • that they would come to know the adoptive Father-heart of God
  • that they would be positively influenced by Christian workers
  • that God would bring Christian friends alongside them
  • that they would come to salvation
  • that they would be adopted by godly parents

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus – Romans 8:1
