2 Corinthians 6:3-7:16

Why does Paul make such a long list of how his ministry is authentic? Why was Paul glad he wrote his first letter to the Corinthians?

Does my witness and ministry withstand difficulties such as those Paul listed? Even though confrontation is awkward and unpleasant, am I willing to confront and to be confronted for the purposes of correction and spiritual growth?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Lord, as I read of all the things Paul went through for the sake of the gospel, I am both inspired and convicted. Help me to commend myself as an authentic follower of You, regardless of my circumstances or the trial and persecution it might bring. Enable me to open my heart wide to other believers. I ask that you would keep me from “yoking” myself with unbelievers–attaching myself to their lifestyle and moving with them toward their goal. Rather, may I ever yoke myself only with Christ and His committed disciples. Show me how to purify myself from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for You. I pray that I would wrong no one, corrupt no one, and exploit no one. Give me a heart that is willing to live or die with my siblings in Christ. May other believers be able to take great pride in me and be encouraged by me. Sometimes it is necessary to confront other believers or for them to confront me. Though it may very well hurt for a little while, help me to give and receive rebuke when it is warranted, not merely to cause sorrow, but so that godly sorrow will bring repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret. I ask this in the Name of Jesus, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Amy & Debbie Brueggemann
  • Chris Carlton
  • Travis & Hali Davidson
  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Brian & Eileen Davis

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for Public Service Professionals (Firefighters, Law enforcement, and medical personnel)…

  • Strength to serve well
  • Safety/health
  • Salvation for lost & ministry opportunities for saved
  • Strong family/marriage relationships
  • Strong, god-honoring friendships

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. – Philippians 4:6
