What were Paul’s prayer requests for the Ephesians? Why were we created in Christ Jesus?

How can I know God better? What good works is He calling me to do?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in Heaven, I ask that You would give me the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that I may know You better. Enlighten the eyes of my heart in order that I may know the hope to which You have called me, the riches of Your glorious inheritance in Your holy people, and Your incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same mighty strength You exerted when You raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every title given–not only in the present age but also in the one to come. You placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be head over everything for the church, which is His body, the fulness of Him who fulfills everything in every way.

As for me, I was dead in my transgressions and sins, following the ways of the world and the devil, gratifying the cravings of my flesh and following its desires and thoughts. I was by nature deserving of wrath. But because of Your great love for me, in Your rich mercy You made me alive with Christ even when I was dead in transgressions–by Your grace I have been saved! And You raised me up with Christ and seated me with Him in the heavenly realms, in order that in the coming ages You might show the incomparable riches of Your grace, expressed in Your kindness to me in Christ Jesus. For it is by Your grace that I have been saved, through faith–and this is not from myself, it is a gift from You–not by works, so I cannot boast. For I am Your handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which You prepared in advance for me to do. I thank You in Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Scott & Kristi Guinn
  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • Patrick Hall
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for your neighbors…

  • That God would provide opportunities for you to minister to them
  • That unbelievers would receive Christ as Savior and Lord
  • For their marriages / family relationships
  • For their finances / employment
  • Any specific needs of which you’re aware

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. – 1 John 5:14
