What is our battle against? What is our offensive weapon? What role does prayer play?

Do I take advantage of the spiritual equipment God has provided, or do I just give up without a fight? Do I sometimes forget where the real battle lies? Do I utilize the Word and prayer effectively?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Father, Make me strong in You and in Your mighty power. Remind me daily to put on the whole armor You’ve provided so that I can take my stand against the devil’s schemes. Remind me that my struggle isn’t against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces at work trying to thwart Your plan, blind people to their need for Jesus, and make me an ineffective disciple. Therefore, may I daily put on all of the armor of God, so that I can stand my ground in the face of evil and remain standing after all has been said and done. Strengthen me to stand firm with the belt of Your truth buckled around my waist, with the breastplate of Christ’s righteousness in place, and with my feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition, may I ever take up the shield of faith that extinguishes ALL of the evil one’s flaming arrows. Thank You that my head is protected by the helmet of salvation. Help me to study Your Word–the Sword of the Spirit–that I may wield it effectively in battle. And make me a prayer warrior, always remaining in an attitude of prayer being led by Your Spirit, always alert and praying for all the saints. Remind me to hold up in prayer those who are my teachers and spiritual leaders, that they will minister effectively and fearlessly. Thank You for Your love and grace. I ask for Your blessing on all who love Jesus with an undying love. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael Morgan

  • Provenance
  • Genesis World Mission

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for Kuna…

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. – James 1:5
