What does it mean to “work out your own salvation”? How was Timothy like no one else?

Am I shining like a star, or hiding my lamp under a bushel? Who is my “Timothy,” and when is the last time I told that person how much I appreciate him/her?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Lord, Give me a heart that desires to obey You above all else, whether someone is watching me or not. I ask that my salvation would work itself out in my life as I submit to You, for it is You who works in me to will and to act according to Your good purpose. Keep me from an ungrateful attitude and a heart that complains and grumbles, so that I may become blameless and pure, Your child without fault in this crooked and depraved generation. May I shine like a star in the world as I hold out Your word of life. Give me a heart that is glad and rejoices in You. Thank You for the people in my life who encourage me and build me up in You. Please don’t let me take them for granted, but may I openly thank them for the blessing they have been to me. I ask this in the Name of Jesus, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Amy & Debbie Brueggemann
  • Chris Carlton
  • Travis & Hali Davidson
  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Brian & Eileen Davis

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for Star and Eagle

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. – Psalm 1:1-2
