Why are faith and love products of hope–why must hope come first? For what and to whom does Paul give thanks?

How can I more fully grasp the hope stored up for me in heaven? Am I consistently thankful to God?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Father, Thank You for the faith and love You give me, springing up from the hope that You also give me. I pray that the Gospel of Jesus Christ would spread and grow all over the world and right here in my city, in my church, in my neighborhood, and may I grow to understand it more deeply as You give me more faith, more love, and more hope. Please fill me with the knowledge of Your will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. I pray this in order that I may live a life worthy of You that pleases You in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of You, being strengthened with all power according to Your glorious might so that I may have patience and endurance, joyfully thanking You for qualifying me to share in the inheritance of the saints of the kingdom of light. For You have rescued me from the dominion of darkness and brought me into the kingdom of the Son You love, in whom I have redemption, the forgiveness of sins. He is the image of You, invisible God, the originator of all creation. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael Morgan

  • Provenance
  • Genesis World Mission

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for Public Service Professionals (Firefighters, Law enforcement, and medical personnel)…

  • Strength to serve well
  • Safety/health
  • Salvation for lost & ministry opportunities for saved
  • Strong family/marriage relationships
  • Strong, God-honoring friendships

Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. – Psalm 1:1-2
