Galatians 3:1-25

How was Abraham considered righteous by God? Since the law does not set aside the promise, what is its purpose?

How did Jesus reconcile the problem that I cannot earn a right standing before God? How do I respond to that? Do I try to “perform” to earn God’s approval?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in Heaven, Let nothing bewitch me that would turn my eyes from Christ alone, and Him crucified. I received the Spirit not from the law but by believing when I heard the gospel. Help me now not to try to attain righteousness by my human efforts. May I always be like Abraham, who believed You and so was considered righteous, for all who rely on observing the law are under a curse. Clearly, no one is justified by observing the law, because You said the righteous will live by faith. I thank You that Christ redeemed me from the curse of the law by dying on the cross, in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to me through Him, so that by faith I might receive the promise of the Holy Spirit. May I always remember that while the law is just and good and not opposed to Your promises, it was not given to save me but to show me my need for a Savior, so that I might be justified by faith. Thank You for that immeasurable gift! In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Scott & Kristi Guinn
  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • Patrick Hall
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for the salvation of the lost & for seekers to find Jesus
