Galatians 6

How do verses 1-2 instruct us to help keep each other in step with the Spirit? What is the main point in Paul’s instruction on living the Spirit-filled life (verses 7-10)?

How do I react when someone sins–especially against me? Do I harbor bitterness and resentment, or do I try to gently restore that person and help to carry his/her burden? Where in my life do I need to be more careful to “sow” to please the Spirit instead of my sinful nature?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Lord, Keep me from a bitter and unforgiving and arrogant heart. If a brother or sister is caught in a sin, help me to be spiritually mature and gently restore that person. May I ever watch myself, so that I do not think I am above falling into sin as well. Give me a heart that desires to carry my fellow believers’ burdens, so fulfilling the law of Christ. Help me to be willing to carry my own load, as well, so that I do not become spiritually lazy. Father, keep me from becoming deceived, and help me to remember that I will reap what I sow. Therefore, may I sow to please Your Spirit, and not my sinful nature. I thank You that all true believers in Christ die to the sinful nature, which reaps destruction, and sow to please the Spirit, reaping eternal life. Help me never to become weary in doing good, for I believe Your promise that, if I do not give up, at the proper time I will reap a great harvest. Therefore, as I have opportunity, may I do good to all people, especially those who belong to the family of believers. May I never boast except in the cross of my Lord Jesus Christ, and may His grace be with my spirit. I ask this in His Name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Amy & Debbie Brueggemann
  • Chris Carlton
  • Travis & Hali Davidson
  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Brian & Eileen Davis

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for marriages in our community…

  • that Christ-like love would be exhibited
  • for good communication between spouses
  • for unity in finances
  • salvation for non-believing spouses
  • that they would balance work and home life
  • that Godly friends and mentors would come alongside them.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. – 1 John 5:14
