Observation

With what have we been blessed? What does the “deposit” of the Holy Spirit guarantee?

Application

How much do I appreciate all that Christ has done for me?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, Thank You for Your grace and peace. Though I cannot conceive it, I am so thankful that You have blessed me in the heavenly realm with every spiritual blessing in Christ! I thank You that, before the world was even formed, You predestined that everyone who believed and received Christ would be adopted as Your children, holy and blameless in Your sight through Him, to the praise of Your glorious grace which You have freely given us in the Son You love. I thank You that in Christ I have the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of Your grace that You have lavished on me with all wisdom and understanding. In Your sovereignty You made known to me the mystery of Your will according to Your good pleasure, to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. You chose to redeem me, in order that I might be for the praise of Your glory. You included me in Christ when I heard and believed the word of truth, the gospel of my salvation. Having believed, You have marked me in Christ with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing my inheritance until the day You redeem all who are Yours, to the praise of Your glory. Thank You, Father! I pray these things in Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Ken & Twilla Eden (Joshua, Jonathan)
  • Gil & Lois Estes
  • Gary Friend
  • For the salvation of lost friends, relatives, neighbors, etc.

Missionaries:

  • J & G Simon, missionaries to Austria

CLF:

  • Ask that we would be a church that is devoted to true fellowship: Pray that we would be encouraged from being united with Christ, comforted by His love, bonded with His Spirit, tender and compassionate with one another. Pray that we would be like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Ask that we would do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider one another better than ourselves, looking not only to our own interests, but also to the interests of each other. Pray that we would all have the same attitude as that of Christ Jesus.

Community: Pray for single adults…

  • To embrace Christ as their best friend and lover of their souls
  • To more fully grasp the family heart of God
  • That God will bring them Godly friends to care for and support them
  • That God will give them a peace and drive away lonliness
  • That God will provide them with meaningful work & ministry in which to use their gifts

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. – 1 John 5:14
