Revelation 6

What does this passage teach us about martyred saints and those who oppose God’s will?

Do I trust God to put all things right and to take care of His saints?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Lord God, As I read this passage I see how, in spite of any appearances to the contrary, You are and always will be in control of all things. Though it often seems that the good are persecuted and the wicked thrive, I thank You that You always provide for Your saints, and You will one day avenge them. I pray that men and women everywhere would turn to You before it’s too late, but I thank You that for those people, great and small, who harden their hearts and ultimately defy You, the day of Your wrath will come, and none will be able to withstand it. I pray this in the name of Jesus, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael Morgan

  • Provenance
  • Genesis World Mission

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for your neighbors…

  • That God would provide opportunities for you to minister to them
  • That unbelievers would receive Christ as Savior and Lord
  • For their marriages / family relationships
  • For their finances / employment
  • Any specific needs of which you’re aware

Pray for me also, that I may be given the message when I begin to speak — that I may confidently make known the mystery of the gospel – Ephesians 6:19 (NET)
