Revelation 5

Why is Jesus the only one who is worthy to open the scroll and break its seals?

Spend some time offering your praise and worship to Jesus, the one who is worthy.

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in Heaven, I praise You that the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered; thus He can open the scroll and its seven seals. Jesus, You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals because You were killed, and at the cost of Your own blood You have purchased for God persons from every tribe, language, people, and nation. You have appointed them as a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth. Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and praise! I eagerly yearn for the Day when every creature — in heaven, on earth, under the earth, in the sea, and all that is in them — will sing: “To the one seated on the throne and to the Lamb be praise, honor, glory, and ruling power forever and ever!” And the four living creatures will say “Amen,” and the elders will throw themselves to the ground and worship. Hallelujah! Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Scott & Kristi Guinn
  • Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
  • Patrick Hall
  • David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus)
  • Bob & Peggy Hoover

  • Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing

  • Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.

Community: Pray for outreaches & service projects

  • Creative strategies
  • Volunteers
  • Anointing of the Holy Spirit
  • Believers working together in unity
  • Provision of necessary resources
  • Salvation for people reached

Pray for me also, that I may be given the message when I begin to speak — that I may confidently make known the mystery of the gospel – Ephesians 6:19 (NET)
