Observation

Why was Peter able to walk on the water? Why did he fall? What did Jesus do when Peter began to sink?

Application

Do I trust Jesus with my entire life, or do I do I take my eyes off Him and start to sink? Do I trust Him to save me even after I’ve failed to trust Him?

Prayer

Dear Jesus, Thank You for Your mighty, matchless power. You fed the huge crowd with one young boy’s small lunch, so I trust You to be able to provide my family with the things we need. Help me to have the faith Peter had to step out of my comfort zone when You beckon me, but unlike Peter, may I not take my eyes off You. Yet, if I do, help me to trust You and to call on You to save me. Thank You for being patient with me and loving me. In Your name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)
  • Keith Rast
  • Andrea Rodriguez (Willie, Yulieta)

Ministry:

  • Boise Rescue Mission

CLF:

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for County leaders…

  • Assessor, Coroner, Treasurer, Clerks, Judges, Prosecutors, Defenders, Sheriffs
  • that they would make sound financial decisions
  • that they would all be faithful in carrying out their duties justly
  • that they would submit themselves to God

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:

And entrust what you heard me say in the presence of many others as witnesses to faithful people who will be competent to teach others as well. – 2 Timothy 2:2 (NET)
