Observation

What does the parable of the wedding feast teach us about God’s offer of salvation and His judgment? What did Jesus teach regarding human authority and God’s authority?

Application

Do I treat the grace of God flippantly, or am I humbled, reverent and grateful to Him for it? Do I have my spiritual “wedding clothes”? Do I recognize and obey human government in its proper place: under God’s authority, but placed there by Him?

Prayer

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, Thank You for Your offer of salvation to everyone, even the poor and lowly. And thank You that because I accepted Your offer, I am Your child and will be at the marriage supper of the Lamb in the wedding clothes given me by Jesus. In the meantime, help me to live in obedience to You and to the authorities You have ordained, disobeying them only when they are in direct rebellion to You. I thank You that You are the God of resurrection power, that the resurrection of Jesus conquered death, and that I, too, will be resurrected after death because of Him. So help me to love You with all my heart, soul, and mind, and to love my neighbor as myself. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
