Mark 8:14-38

How many times did Jesus touch the blind man before he was completely healed? Why did Jesus rebuke Peter? What did Jesus say a prospective follower of His would have to do?

Is there an area of my life where I need to ask Jesus to touch me again? Where is my mind set: on God’s interests or man’s? Do I deny myself and take up my cross to follow Jesus, or do I demand my own rights and desires?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, Thank You for Jesus, the Savior who gives a second touch to the soul that needs it and humbly comes to Him. I ask that Jesus would work in my life where He sees fit until I become completely the person He wants me to be. Help me to set my mind on Your interests and not my own. Give me strength to deny myself, take up my cross, and follow Jesus. And please guard me from the infecting yeast of false teachers and legalists. In Jesus’ name I ask, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.
