How are Christians to act toward believers who are living in sin?

Do I follow the biblical pattern regarding my interaction with rebellious believers?

Dear Lord, I ask that Your Word would spread quickly and be honored, and that those who deliver it would be delivered from perverse and evil people. I thank You for Your faithfulness and deliverance from the evil one. Strengthen me to continually obey Your Word. I pray that you would direct my heart toward Your love and the endurance of Christ. Remind me to keep away from any Christian who lives an undisciplined and rebellious lifestyle contrary to Your Word. Help me to live an obedient life in submission to You. Keep me from meddling in others’ work, Help me to keep focused on my own work, and do not let me grow weary in doing what is right. But if anyone does not obey the message of Your Word, remind me not to associate closely with him, so that he may be ashamed. Yet, may I not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. Now may you give me peace at all times and in every way and be with me. In Your name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)
  • Keith Rast
  • Andrea Rodriguez (Willie, Yulieta)

  • Boise Rescue Mission

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for your neighbors…

  • That God would provide opportunities for you to minister to them
  • That unbelievers would receive Christ as Savior and Lord
  • For their marriages / family relationships
  • For their finances / employment
  • Any specific needs of which you’re aware

But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. – Matthew 6:33 (NET)
