Why did Paul & his companions preach the gospel (verse 4)? What kind of message is the gospel (verse 13)?

Do I truly understand the authority and importance of God’s message, the gospel? Do I live to please people or to please God?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Lord Jesus, Help me to be a God-pleaser and not a man-pleaser in all my speech and conduct. Help me to live a life consistent with a messenger of the gospel, the message of God. I ask this in Your Name, Lord Jesus, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael Morgan

  • Provenance
  • Genesis World Mission

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for outreaches & service projects

  • Creative strategies
  • Volunteers
  • Anointing of the Holy Spirit
  • Believers working together in unity
  • Provision of necessary resources
  • Salvation for people reached
