What kind of spirit has God given us? Why was Paul not ashamed?

Do I daily walk in the spirit God has given me? Am I persuaded that the one in whom I have believed is able to guard what He has entrusted to me?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, I ask that You would remind me constantly that You have not given me a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love and self-control. May I ever walk in that spirit and never be ashamed of the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. Rather, by Your power I accept my share of suffering for the gospel. I thank You that You saved me and gave me a holy calling, not based on anything I have done but by Your own purpose and grace, granted to me in Christ before time began. Jesus has broken the power of sin and death and brought me life and immortality through the gospel. My faith is set in You, and I am convinced that You are able to protect the salvation You have entrusted to me until the Day of Christ. So help me to hold on to the standard of the sound teaching of Your Word with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. Help me to guard my heart and mind, protecting the good thing You have entrusted to me through the Holy Spirit who lives in all who accept Christ. I ask this in Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Travis & Hali Davidson (Andrew)
  • Brian & Eileen Davis

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for Nampa

  • That city leaders would submit to God
  • That people can find and keep gainful employment
  • For sound financial management by city officials
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • For the mayor, city council members, and public works officials

And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:19 (NET)
