What is God’s will for the believer (verse 3-6)? Who are we rejecting if we reject this teaching?

Do I live in holiness and sexual purity? Am I rejecting the Holy Spirit?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father, Help me to grow in Christ and live in a way that pleases You more and more. Strengthen me to follow Your will: to become holy, to keep away from sexual immorality, to possess my own body in holiness and honor and not in lustful passion like those who do not know You. May I never violate or take advantage of fellow believers in this regard, for I know that You are the avenger in all these cases, and You did not call me to impurity, but to holiness. I do not reject this teaching, for that would not be rejecting human teaching but rejecting You, the One who gave the Holy Spirit to me. Help me to love Your people more and more, to aspire to lead a quiet life, to attend to my own business, and to work with my own hands, as Your Word commands, that I may live a decent life before outsiders and not be in need. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Chris & DeAnn Smith (Sasha, Noah, Gavin)
  • Jeannie Williams
  • Danielle Youngblood (Kayla, Kendra)
  • Janeth & Moy

  • Chapel Mission India

  • That we would be devoted to thanksgiving and praise to our Lord–for what He has done, for what He is doing, for what He will do, and for who He is–in good times and bad.
