What does this passage teach about the return of Christ and the resurrection of His people? What about teachers who set dates regarding His return?

Do I live in a way that displays that I truly believe and trust that Jesus is coming? Do I encourage others with this?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father God, I praise You for raising Jesus from the dead, and that because of that, one day Your people, too, will be raised and death will be no more! I thank You that from that day forward we who are in Christ will always be with You. Though no man knows what day Christ will come, strengthen me to live every day on the alert as if it that will be THE day, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and the hope of Your salvation as a helmet. Thank You that you did not destin me for Your wrath, but for gaining salvation through Jesus Christ, who died so that whether I am alert or asleep, I will come to life together with Him. Help me to keep that in the forefront of my mind, and help me to view every situation in my life through that perspective, remembering to use these great promises to encourage and build up my brothers and sisters in You. I ask this in Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Mike Daniels
  • Theresa Daniels
  • Travis & Hali Davidson (Andrew)
  • Brian & Eileen Davis

  • Tim & Miranda Penn (Samid, Sarah), missionaries to Albania

  • That Christian Life Fellowship would be a church that is devoted to the Word of God, and that we would be doers of it and not just hearers; that we would study the Word and so always be prepared to give everyone an answer–in season and out of season–and be approved workers who do not need to be ashamed, able to accurately understand and explain it.

Community: Pray for the relationship between generations–parents, children, grandparents

  • That the true Christian faith of older generation would be clearly communicated and passed down to children
  • That saved children in unsaved families would clearly exhibit and communicate the faith to their parents and grandparents
  • A harvest of souls of all ages
  • Good, nurturing relationships

But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. – Matthew 6:33 (NET)
