Micah 7

What does Micah’s affirmation in verse 7 teach us?

Do I look to the LORD and wait on Him no matter the circumstances or what others may be doing?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:

Father God, The times we live in are so similar to those being described in Micah’s time.It seems that Godly people are vanishing and upright people are fewer and farther between with each passing year. Evil seems to be flourishing more and more, and the culture endorses it and revels in it. Domestic disputes are skyrocketing and the family is being constantly and mercilessly attacked. More and more of those who once claimed to belong to Your people are falling away and disowning the faith. But as for me, I will look to You, Lord; I will wait for You, the God of my salvation. I know You will hear me. Our enemies may rejoice when they see Your people going through trials and difficulties, assuming we are vanquished. But though we have fallen, we will stand up; though we sit in darkness, You will be our light. You will establish justice for us. For who is a God like You, removing iniquity and passing over rebellion for the remnant of His inheritance? You do not hold on to Your anger forever, because You delight in faithful love. You will again have compassion on us; You will vanquish our iniquities. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. You will show loyalty and faithful love, as You swore to our fathers from days long ago. Thank you, Lord! I pray this in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:

  • Pat & Hannah Kelley
  • Fred & Shirley Leonard
  • Mark & Michelle Morgan (Cody, Kyle)
  • Michael Morgan

  • Provenance
  • Genesis World Mission

  • That we will devote ourselves to prayer, individually, in small groups, and as a church.

Community: Pray for County leaders…

  • Assessor, Coroner, Treasurer, Clerks, Judges, Prosecutors, Defenders, Sheriffs
  • that they would make sound financial decisions
  • that they would all be faithful in carrying out their duties justly
  • that they would submit themselves to God

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you – Matthew 5:44 (HCSB)
