Observation

What causes a godly person to be happy and stable and to keep from giving in to worldly philosophies and temptation (verse 2)?

Application

How much time do I spend meditating on the Lord’s instruction as revealed in His Word?

Prayer

Dear Lord, I want to have a happy life. I do not want to follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path of sinners, or join a group of mockers! Instead, I want to delight in Your instruction, and meditate on it day and night so that I will be like a tree planted beside streams of water that bears its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Help me to do this so that whatever I do will prosper because it will be in Your will, the only true measure of real prosperity. Thank You that You watch over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to ruin. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)
  • Keith Rast
  • Andrea Rodriguez (Willie, Yulieta)

Ministry:

  • Boise Rescue Mission

CLF:

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for our state leaders…

  • Governor & his advisers
  • Judges
  • state senators and representatives
  • that they would all be faithful in carrying out their duties justly
  • that they would submit themselves to God

MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you – Matthew 5:44 (HCSB)
