How did David describe the Lord (v7)?

Do I utilize the strength of the Lord He has made available to me? Do I place myself behind him as my shield?

Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Lord, I call to You; my rock, do not be deaf to me. If You remain silent to me, I will be like those going down to the Pit. Listen to the sound of my pleading when I cry to You for help, when I lift up my hands toward You. Because the wicked do not consider what You have done or the work of Your hands, You will tear them down and not rebuild them. I praise You, for You have heard the sound of my pleading. You are my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in You, and I am helped. Therefore my heart rejoices, and I praise You with my song. You are the strength of Your people, and a stronghold of salvation for Your anointed. Please save Your people, bless Your possession, shepherd them, and carry them forever. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

Pray to BLESS!

One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:

  • B – BODY (physical health)
  • L – Labor (their job or school)
  • E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
  • S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
  • S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)

Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries.

  • Doug & Pam Patchin
  • Jared & Amanda Patchin (Alex, Luke)
  • Keith Rast
  • Andrea Rodriguez (Willie, Yulieta)

  • Boise Rescue Mission

  • That we will be people who are devoted to giving to the Lord’s work and to anyone who has a need.

Community: Pray for Teachers & Administrators & School Boards

  • Godly curriculum
  • God’s wisdom in teaching and leading
  • Salvation for unbelievers
  • Ability to inspire a love of truth and learning

For in the gospel God’s righteousness is being revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, “The righteous will live by faith.” – Romans 1:17 (ISV)
