Observation
In the midst of His fierce anger, what does God choose to do with sinful Israel?
Application
How does God’s great compassion influence my life?
Prayer
Pray today’s Scripture back to God:
Dear Father in Heaven, Even though Israel had fallen into sin and rebellion and rejected You, that did not change the fact that You were her Father, and in Your compassion you could not destroy her. You are God and not man. You are the Holy One who dwells among Your people. Thank You for Your kindness, forgiveness, and compassion! Help me to follow You all the days of my life. I ask these things in te name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, Amen!
Pray to BLESS!
One good way to pray for people is to use the acronym BLESS to pray for God’s blessing on every area of their lives:
- B – BODY (physical health)
- L – Labor (their job or school)
- E – Emotions (emotional health as well as guarding against letting emotions rule)
- S – Social (relationships with family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, church, etc)
- S – Spiritual (remaining true to God and growing in Him)
Spend some time praying for the following people and ministries:
- Mike & Jamie Haberkorn (Hannah, Sean)
- David & MaryBeth Hollander (Cole, Marcus)
- Bob & Peggy Hoover
Ministry:
- Chrysalis Women’s Transitional Housing
CLF:
- Pray that we would be a church that is dedicated to the breaking of bread, both in the sense of being devoted to observing the Lord’s Supper, and in meeting together for meals to fellowship, to deepen bonds, to heal offenses, and to end disputes.
Community: Pray for your neighbors…
- That God would provide opportunities for you to minister to them
- That unbelievers would receive Christ as Savior and Lord
- For their marriages / family relationships
- For their finances / employment
- Any specific needs of which you’re aware
MEMORY VERSE OF THE WEEK:
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ. – Romans 10:17 (ESV)
